Moments of Confusion

Validity

Are you still a mother if you have to take a break from your child? When your parenting becomes ineffective, are you a failure if you stand up and say "I need a break?"

Things to ponder.

Ruby, this only means that you are human. There are no perfect parents. Everyone needs a break now and then. All anyone can do is the best that they can do at that moment in time. Sometimes, it is best to say that you need a break and let someone else take over for awhile. From what I can see, you have been a great parent to your daughter. I have known many parents who are far worse than you. I think it is a sign of strength and wisdom that you recognize that you need a break. Let me know if you would like to talk.
